SFMTA head will take one for the team and skip his $40k raise

Nathaniel Ford, the head of the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency — The City’s highest paid public employee, with a base salary of $315,140 — has agreed to forgo his annual raise as the agency tackles a $40 million budget deficit and ongoing cuts in state funding. His raise could have added up to more than $40,000. He will, however, be able to cash out any accrued holidays and executive-leave hours. -SF Examiner

Life is so hard for some people. I can’t even imagine the sacrifices he’ll have to make without that 40 grand.

It is just me or are too many of the city’s “top” officials grossly overpaid for the amount that actually gets achieved?
